Incoming students: Complete modern language placement exams by July 1

Students who studied French, German or Spanish and want to continue in that language at Case Western Reserve University should take the appropriate language placement exam by completing the Modern Language Placement Exams item on the New Student Checklist.

The study of a foreign language is encouraged but not required by the university. Students need only take this exam if they intend to continue studies in one of these languages at CWRU; those who plan to study other languages during their college careers need not take a placement exam.

Students should log in to the checklist to complete the exam that pertains to them or to indicate their intent to not continue studying a foreign language by Tuesday, July 1.

Questions about placement exams and related topics should be directed to the Office of Undergraduate Studies at summerreghelp@case.edu.
