The Department of Nutrition at the School of Medicine will offer a program in January to help faculty and staff members make healthy lifestyle changes to prevent type 2 diabetes. The PreventT2 program connects participants with a trained lifestyle coach and fellow enrollees to encourage healthy changes that will last a lifetime.
This program will help participants:
- Make healthier food choices without giving up the foods they love;
- Add physical activity to their life, even with limited time;
- Deal with stress;
- Cope with challenges that can derail their hard work—like how to choose healthier options when eating out; and
- Get back on track because everyone slips sometimes.
A virtual information session will be held Wednesday, Jan. 11, from noon to 1 p.m. The program will begin on Wednesday, Jan. 18, with sessions held from noon to 1 p.m.
