During tough times, kindness really matters. Kind acts, like helping someone register to vote, sharing a positive news story on social media or creating a yard sign for frontline health care workers, go a long way toward building community, increasing happiness and decreasing stress.
University Wellness invites faculty, staff and students to join the four-week-long “Make Kindness the Norm Challenge” starting Monday, Sept. 7.
To participate, individuals must register for the challenge, then try to do at least one act of kindness each week in one of the five kindness areas:
- Kindness in the Community;
- Civic Kindness;
- Kindness to Self;
- Be Kind Online; and
- Take the Time to be Extra Kind.
Each Monday, participants will receive a short survey about their kind acts in the previous week. The email also will include new ideas for kind acts in the weeks to come.
