Join other men in redefining masculinity in program for students

Masculinity Mondays is a new initiative presented by a group of fraternities on campus (DTD, SigEP, OX, FIJI, SigmaChi, SigmaNU, DSP and ZBT) in which participants will discuss different topics and their relationship to masculinity in hopes of redefining what it means to be a man.

The goal is to take a topic and build a discussion based on a piece of related media (article, podcast, video), giving participants the opportunity to connect personal experiences to shared values and evaluate what masculinity means to them in this new context. The most important part is to ask questions: “How can I apply these values to my daily life? What am I doing well and what can I do to improve?” Organizers believe this process will drive personal reflection and growth as individuals and our collective growth as a campus community.

Students will meet Oct. 4, Oct. 25, Nov. 1, Nov. 15 and Nov. 22. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with the discussion from 6 to 7 p.m. Dinner will be provided.Prior to each session, students can visit the Masculinity Mondays Instagram page (@masculinitymondayscwru) to find that week’s topic, link to a piece of media and a brief preview of the discussion. The Instagram page also will include a link to CampusGroups to register for the next session.
