The Wellness Program will host a series to help members of the Case Western Reserve University community reap and prepare healthy meals from their own garden.
In the two-part series, “From Your Garden to Your Table,” attendees will learn about growing their own pandemic “victory” garden and gain strategies for eating better during times of struggle.
Gardening in Cleveland offers challenges, but healthy vegetables can and will grow with the proper support. Join the University Farm’s Ryan Bennet for “Get Your Garden Going” Friday, March 19, at 12:30 p.m. via Zoom. In this session, Bennet will share information for beginners, different methods of growing herbs and vegetables with limited space, how to choose the right plants for the space and lighting available and even some information about compost.
Then Brenda Walsh, a dietician with University Health Service, will help faculty, staff and students achieve balance and peace in their nutritional well-being in the midst of the pandemic in her webinar titled “Navigating Nutrition During a Pandemic.” The second session will be held Friday, March 26, at 12:30 p.m. Pre-registration for this miniseries is requested. Sign up to participate.
