Vanderbilt University Law School Professor Michael A. Newton will be on campus Feb. 3 for his lecture, “The Kurdish Genocide Trials: An Insider’s Legal and Historical Perspective.” From a jurisprudential perspective the Kurdish genocides produced some of the most complex cases in world history, and this lunchtime talk will focus both on the trials and on the legal significance of the reasoning used by Kurdish, Dutch and Iraqi judges.
The free, public lecture will be held from noon to 1 p.m. in the School of Law Moot Courtroom (A59). Lunch will be provided.
