Three CWRU students competed in the annual Japan-America Society of Central Ohio Online Japanese Speech Contest (JASCO) on March 20.
Sydney Olney, Japanese studies major; Tianyin Chan, Japanese studies minor; and Thang Tran, student in Advanced Japanese II; all took part in the competition. Olney was awarded first place for her speech “Empowering Non-Binary/Transgender Youth in the Japanese Classroom.”
