“The Triple Bonds: Yoshinaka and Kanehira’s Last Moments as Lord/Vassal, Milk Brothers, and Lovers in Heike Monogatari”

Case Western Reserve University and the Japan Foundation will host Sachi Schmidt-Hori, assistant professor of Asian societies cultures and languages at Dartmouth College, for a talk today (April 14) from 4 to 5 p.m. EDT via Zoom.

Schmidt-Hori’s talk is titled “The Triple Bonds: Yoshinaka and Kanehira’s Last Moments as Lord/Vassal, Milk Brothers, and Lovers in Heike Monogatari” and will cover gender, sexuality, male-male love, medieval Japan, Heike monogatari, fictive kinship and female warriors.
