Sayed Kashua, a best-selling author, journalist and TV show writer, will give two lectures hosted by the Siegal Lifelong Learning Program Wednesday, March 27, and Thursday, March 28.
The lectures will be free for members of Siegal Lifelong Learning and the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage. They will cost $5 for nonmembers.

Kashua will reflect on the use of humor in his works across genres, discussing his weekly column in Israel’s newspaper Haaretz, and his hit TV show Arab Labor, and addressing serious political and social issues through the lens of humor.

Kashua, once “the other” in his homeland of Israel, now finds himself “the other” in his new home in St. Louis. Through humor and satire, Kashua will share the challenges and struggles of living in a foreign land, and the difficulties of writing about home from a distance.
