Trivia result: A School of Law alumnus represented Rosa Parks

Fred D. Gray, a 1954 School of Law alumnus, represented Rosa Parks when she refused to give up her seat on a Montgomery, Ala., bus only a year after he graduated. About 76 percent of respondents correctly guessed Gray as the answer to this week’s trivia question.

In addition, Gray defended Martin Luther King, Jr. and other ministers in response to Alabama’s attempts to stop the bus boycott.

He also was elected to the House of Representatives in 1970 and served as president of the National Bar Association.
