Thanksgiving to bring a much-needed break for university community

With Thanksgiving less than a week away, students soon will begin preparing for final exams and winter break is just around the corner.

But as the fall semester begins to wrap up, it appears people need a chance to recharge: In our poll this week, we asked what people were looking forward to most about the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, and the most popular answer was “a break from school/work” at 42 percent. (The university will be closed Thursday, Nov. 26, and Friday, Nov. 27.)

Many people are just looking forward to time with their friends and families this holiday, with 39 percent of respondents picking that option.

Others are ready for the turkey and mashed potatoes, with 14 percent of respondents selecting “food” in our poll.

Meanwhile, 5 percent of respondents are looking forward to watching football.

Whatever your plans for the holiday, we hope you have a safe Thanksgiving—and that you come back from the holiday ready to end the semester on a strong note!
