In the midst of finals, review Kelvin Smith Library’s ID policy

As the university moves into final exams and library use increases, Kelvin Smith Library encourages library users to review its current ID policy. The library’s ID scan system, which was installed at the Welcome Desk more than a year ago, has resulted in increased security for all guests. A quick scan of your ID is a simple way to help to keep the library a safe and comfortable environment for everyone.

How it works:

  • CWRU students, faculty and staff should scan their CWRU ID cards at the Welcome Desk as they enter the library.
  • Non-CWRU visitors will need to present a valid photo ID at the Welcome Desk to sign in.
  • After 8 p.m., all visitors will need to either scan their CWRU IDs or press the intercom (non-CWRU) to enter the building, and then scan or present their IDs again at the Welcome Desk to gain access to the library.
