Case Western Reserve University is expanding to Jerusalem and London in spring 2013. These programs, developed and organized by CWRU faculty members, provide unique opportunities for students to apply their studies to their fields in a real, practical way.
The CWRU Jerusalem program will partner with Hebrew University and will feature a course on Jerusalem, intensive language instruction in Hebrew, an internship experience that could be turned into a SAGES capstone project, along with electives of the student’s choice. CWRU Jerusalem will also offer a unique insight into Israeli life by pairing students with Clevelanders and CWRU alumni living in Israel. Students will have opportunities to take advantage of cultural offerings inside and outside of classrooms.
This selective program, open to all majors, is available for 10 students for the spring 2013 semester, with each student receiving approximately $5,000 from the Rosenthal Student Endowment to cover airfare and other expenses.
The CWRU London program, “Timemarks in European Theatre History,” will take place at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. This program focuses on the changes in theater from Athens in 534 AD to Berlin in 1928. Students will experience a blending of academic study and performance in London while taking CWRU classes.
