The Case Western Reserve Staff Advisory Council Elections Committee announced Brinn Omabegho, department manager of molecular biology and microbiology, as the newly elected vice chair of the council.
Omabegho has worked at CWRU for 11 years. Her university service includes:
- Department manager, Department of Molecular Biology & Microbiology
- Assistant administrator for the Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals Center for AIDS Research
- Administrator for departmental graduate student programs
Omabegho is serving her second term on SAC as a representative, Diversity Council Liaison to the SAC Steering Committee, the Community Service Committee and the Staff Recognition Committee and a member of the University Core Facilities Planning Committee.
“I have a strong commitment to our university,” said Omabegho. “I am honored to serve as SAC vice chair, as this will give me the opportunity to further support the missions of SAC and Case Western Reserve”
The vice chair is elected by the council to serve a one-year term as vice chair
followed by a one-year term as chair. Omabegha’s term of office will begin Sept. 16.
