The Wrongful Convictions Club will host a free screening of Spiz Tuesday, Nov. 14, at 6:30 p.m. in the Eldred Theater.
The 40-minute film depicts the wrongful conviction of Dean Gillispie, who served 20 years in prison for crimes he did not commit. Through Gillispie’s lived experience, art, and words, Spiz examines the causes and effects of wrongful convictions in the United States.
Following the screening, attendees will have the opportunity to engage in a live discussion and Q&A session with Gillispie and the film’s director, Barry Rowen.
