The Siegal Lifelong Learning Program named Gila Silverman the new director of Jewish lifelong learning. Silverman brings experience as an educator, researcher and writer, along with her expertise in anthropology and Judaic studies to the program. She started Jan. 4.
Silverman holds a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Vassar College, and a master’s in public health and a PhD in sociocultural and medical anthropology, both from the University of Arizona. Most recently, Silverman has been a visiting scholar with the Arizona Center for Judaic Studies.
This month, Silverman is teaching a course titled “Healing and Wholeness in a World That Seems Broken” for the Siegal Lifelong Learning Program.
