SCUBA Club to offer weekly certification classes starting March 23

Case Western Reserve University’s SCUBA Club will offer certification classes starting this Sunday.

For the Open Water SCUBA Certification Class, the following dates and times are required for the PADI Open Water SCUBA certification class:

  • 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 23, Veale Center
  • 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 30, Veale Center
  • 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 6, Veale Center
  • 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, Thwing Center for a written test (also can be taken April 12)
  • April 12 and 13, White Star Quarry for final training dives

The projected cost for the certification class and trip to White Star is $505, which includes all fees, gear rental, travel, lodging and food. The majority of this cost comes from Dan’s Scuba shop, which will perform the certification class.

A PADI Advanced Open Water SCUBA certification class is also available for those already open-water certified. Only the trip to White Star Quarry is required, and the projected cost for the class and trip is $190.

For those SCUBA divers who wish to attend the trip without participating in a certification class, the projected cost is $150.
