Ruqaiijah Yearby, the Oliver C. Schroeder Jr. Distinguished Research Scholar, associate director of the Law-Medicine Center and professor of law, gave the keynote address for a Cleveland Office of Minority Health event in April. Yearby presented a talk, titled “Eradicating Injustice to Attain Health Equity in Cleveland.”
Yearby also spoke about the intersection of race and health care at two events last fall: She was an invited speaker at the University of Missouri School of Medicine, where she gave a presentation titled “Racial Disparities: The Injustice of Racial Bias in Health Care After the ACA.” The American Society for Bioethics and Humanities in San Diego also invited Yearby to talk on the topic.
