SAFE Line gets new central phone number; offers privileged reporting to discuss sexual assault, relationship violence

The Sexual Conduct Committee at Case Western Reserve University announced a new centralized phone number for privileged and confidential conversations about sexual assault and relationship violence. The Survivors And Friends Empowerment (SAFE) Line can be reached 24/7 at 216.368.7777.

This centralized phone number was developed in response to student feedback that CWRU needed one phone number dedicated to response. All individuals responding to this line have been trained by campus and community experts, and all responders are privileged reporting resources, which retain students’ rights to determine their best course of action and choice in reporting and accessing services.

For more information about privileged reporting resources and the SAFEline, visit www.case.edu/diversity/sexualconduct for full campus policies, more resources and ways to get involved.

All incoming students will receive a key tag with the SAFEline contact information. Any returning students interested in receiving a key tag are welcome to pick one up at the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women in Thwing Center 309 or the University Office of Student Affairs in Adelbert Hall.

The SAFE Line is coordinated between the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women Health Advocate, University Counseling Services, University Health Service, Cleveland Rape Crisis Center and the Domestic Violence and Child Advocacy Center. The University Office of Student Affairs and IT Services were instrumental in developing this initiative.
