Researchers write about considerations for dietary supplements for cardiovascular disease

An article by Esther Thatcher and Colin Crowe, both of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, was published in the May edition of Capsules, a publication from the Ohio Cardiovascular and Diabetes Health Collaborative (Cardi-OH).

Their article, titled “Starting the Conversation: Dietary Supplements and Cardiovascular Disease,” provides guidance on how to effectively communicate with patients about the dietary supplements they may be taking. Jennifer Gilmore of the University of Toledo also was a contributing author.

Case Western Reserve University is the lead institution for Cardi-OH, a statewide initiative of healthcare professionals at Ohio’s seven medical schools who share knowledge to improve Medicaid patient outcomes and eliminate health disparities across Ohio.
