Natural grocery store, cafe and coffee bar represents partnership of Plum Market, Bon Appétit Management Co. and Case Western Reserve University
Bon Appétit Management Co. and Plum Market have opened Plum Market Kitchen, launching a new 12,000-square-foot urban-market concept, featuring all-natural, organic and locally sourced food, beverage and wellness items at Uptown in University Circle.
“The addition of Plum Market Kitchen to the Uptown retail district brings an innovative, health-conscious grocery and dining operation to serve the university’s faculty, staff and students as well as the University Circle community,” said Richard Jamieson, vice president for campus services at Case Western Reserve University. “This new operation, made possible through our strong partnership with Bon Appétit, will provide an excellent dining venue while meeting the vital grocery needs of area shoppers.”
Plum Market, with multiple format locations in Michigan, Illinois and Indiana, was chosen for its legacy of quality and innovation in the natural grocery sector. The company is known for its curated selection of natural groceries, wine and beer, and apothecary and wellness items.
Plum Market serves its brand of lifestyle essentials to millions of guests per year across multiple formats that include full-service grocery stores, urban-store concepts and cafeterias. The company has found a niche among college-town audiences that include Oakland University in Detroit and Bon Appétit-served Butler University in Indianapolis.
Organic and locally sourced products make up most of Plum Market Kitchen’s retail collection and include packaged snacks, frozen items, artisan baked goods and specialty candies, with a focus on a selection of wine and beer. The company’s signature recipe collection of grab-and-go foods features hot meals, fresh salads, fresh sushi, all-natural soups and made-to-order signature sandwiches. Plum Market Kitchen’s menu items are crafted on site from peak-of-season ingredients by a Bon Appétit executive chef and culinary staff.
The location also offers a selection of vitamins and supplements, natural skin and body care, locally crafted goods and a full-service coffee bar.
The new Plum Market Kitchen is at 11473 Euclid Ave. Its hours are:
- 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday;
