“Pixar’s Memories” lecture

Enjoy the views from the Skylounge at One University Circle during this monthly lecture series presented by Siegal Lifelong Learning. February’s lecture is titled, “Pixar’s Memories,” presented by Daniel Goldmark, professor and director of the Center for Popular Music Studies. The event will be held Wednesday, Feb. 19, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The cost for Lifelong Learning members is $7. Tickets for non-members are $12.

Since 1995, Pixar has created some of the most beloved and innovative animated movies for children, including the Toy Story series, Cars, The Incredibles, Ratatouille, and Coco. In this presentation, Goldmark will look at some trends in scoring and sound design to show how the melodies of childhood—and adulthood—are being used to drive the stories of recent animated features from Pixar Studios.
