Participate in service opportunities as a Civic Engagement Scholar

The Center for Civic Engagement and Learning invites students to participate in the Civic Engagement Scholar program. Endorsed by President Barbara R. Snyder, the program is designed to promote and recognize meaningful student involvement in the Cleveland community.

Scholars commit to complete 50 community service hours, with at least 20 hours at one site during the academic year. To enhance their learning, scholars participate in education and reflection about civic engagement, community issues and social justice.

Upon successful completion of the program, scholars are awarded a Certificate of Distinguished Service and attend a reception.

Both undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to participate.

Apply for the Civic Engagement Scholar program. Applications are due by Sunday, Sept. 22.
