The Siegal Lifelong Learning Program’s Northeast Ohio Public Policy Forum series continues Wednesday, June 14, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Urban Community School (4909 Lorain Ave., Cleveland).
The discussion is titled “Transportation in Northeast Ohio. Where’s the Equity?”
A panel will discuss the role transportation plays in creating more equitable communities. It will tackle how to offer affordable public transit and develop infrastructure to meet the needs of residents throughout the region and examine the funding challenges in doing so.
The panel will be composed of:
- Derek Bauman, vice chairman of All Aboard Ohio;
- Grace Gallucci, executive director of NOACA: Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency;
- Hunter Morrison, senior fellow of the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University; and
- Akshai Singh, member of Clevelanders for Public Transit.
Ginger Christ, a reporter for The Plain Dealer, will moderate the discussion.
The Urban Community School, Case Western Reserve University’s Siegal Lifelong Learning Program, League of Women Voters-Greater Cleveland, Cleveland.com and the Lakewood, Heights and Cuyahoga County Library systems will co-sponsor the event with corporate sponsor, First Interstate Properties Ltd.
