Next PRCHN seminar to focus on addressing health concerns of inner-city Cleveland residents

Sandra Byrd ChappelleIn three adjoining inner-city Cleveland neighborhoods, residents have an average life expectancy that is 15 years shorter than that of nearby suburbs. Sandra Byrd Chappelle, founder and principal of Strategic Solutions Partners LLC, addresses similar community health disparities through strategic community engagement. Residents of the affected neighborhood implemented her Healthy Eating and Active Living model in order to boost community health.

Strategic Solutions Partners LLC works with public, private and government entities to solve a variety of complex issues faced by urban communities. By addressing underlying problems in policy and community systems, the firm tackles a number of largely health-related issues affecting local areas.

Byrd Chappelle will explore the possibility of creating a healthier community in an upcoming PRCHN monthly seminar. The seminar will introduce attendees to strategies aimed at preventing and reducing the burden of chronic disease on Cleveland’s urban neighborhoods. The free, public seminar will take place Wednesday, May 11, from noon to 1:15 p.m. in the ground floor conference room of the BioEnterprise Building.
