Medicine’s Sarah Tyler Plummer, Shanail Berry Lampkin discuss cardiovascular risk factors for children and adolescents

Sarah Tyler Plummer, associate professor, and Shanail Berry Lampkin, assistant professor, both of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine recently joined Cardi-OH Radio for a discussion on cardiovascular risk factors for children and adolescents.

The two spoke on “Podcast 51 – Preventing Cardiovascular Disease in Youth,” hosted by the Ohio Cardiovascular and Diabetes Health Collaborative (Cardi-OH). In the podcast, Tyler Plummer and moderator Berry Lampkin explored how hypertension and hyperlipidemia contribute to cardiometabolic disease, shared strategies for diagnosis and management—including in-office and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring—and discussed the importance of family-centered lifestyle interventions.
