Medicine’s Ryan Farrell discusses obesity treatment in primary care to lower weight and improve metabolic outcomes

This past March, Ryan Farrell, associate professor of pediatrics at the School of Medicine, joined Michael Holliday, associate professor at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, to discuss obesity treatment in primary care to lower weight and improve metabolic outcomes.

The two spoke on Podcast 43- Obesity and Weight Loss Management: Pharmacotherapy, Part 1, which is part of a two-part series hosted by the Ohio Cardiovascular and Diabetes Health Collaborative (Cardi-OH).

On the podcast, Farrell and Holliday reviewed important factors in taking the history of a patient with rapid weight gain and obesity, discussed the comorbid conditions of obesity, and gave a comprehensive overview of medication therapy for weight loss focused on both adult and pediatric populations.
