Mandel School’s Richard Romaniuk publishes book in Poland

Richard Romaniuk’s book Leczenie Uzależnień: Materiały na Zamówienie (Addiction Treatment: Requested Materials) was published in Poland in August. Romaniuk is a lecture at the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences. His book is a compilation of the his articles on evidence-based practices and the significance of trauma in addiction treatment, especially among vulnerable populations of patients such as women and members of the LGBTQ+ community. The book was published by Odwróceni (Reversed) Addiction Treatment Clinic, the first clinic in Poland that applied the trauma-informed program “Seeking Safety” developed by Lisa Najavits.

Some material in the book was developed with the cooperation of Kathy Farkas, associate professor emerita at the Mandel School, and Department of Sociology at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland.
