The Group of Advancement for Doctoral Education (GADE) recently awarded Laura Voith, associate professor at the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, the 2024 Donna Harrington Faculty Award for Excellence in Mentoring of Doctoral Students.
Established in 2017, this award is given to a current or retired faculty member who has a sustained and demonstrable record of exemplary commitment to and achievement of excellence, innovation and effectiveness in mentoring of doctoral students, and creating an environment that is inclusive and supportive of diverse doctoral students from underrepresented communities.
Donna Harrington was a leader in doctoral education and in GADE, serving on the steering committee for several years and as one of the principal editors of the GADE Quality Guidelines for PhD Programs.
2024 awardees will be recognized at the annual reception hosted at the Society for Social Work and Research Annual Conference in Washington D.C. today (Jan. 12).
