Learn the ABC’s of honeybees with two-part University Farm course April 12-13

beekeping at University FarmRichard Manley, University Farm beekeeping consultant for more than four years, in conjunction with the farm administration, will host an “ABC’s of Honey Bees” course.

The two-session weeknight course will be held Tuesday, April 12, and Wednesday, April 13, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Squire Valleevue and Valley Ridge Farms (37125 Fairmount Blvd., Hunting Valley).

The course will cover all aspects of beginning beekeeping, honeybee biology and diseases, and hive management. Weather permitting, students will be able to participate in hives inspection including observation of brood, honey and pollen cells.

The course fee is $70 per participant. A minimum of five participants will be required to offer course.
