Students: Enter Kelvin Smith Library’s book collecting contest

Students who have built a collection of 10-50 books based on a theme are encouraged to enter a book collecting contest sponsored by Kelvin Smith Library. Winners are eligible to participate in the National Collegiate Book Collecting Contest.

Cash prizes for the top three collections will be awarded, including a $1,000 first prize. 

To enter the contest, students must submit an essay the theme of the collection and provide an annotated bibliography for the books in the collection, including full bibliographic information for and a brief explanation of how each book fits the collection theme. Entries must be submitted by Friday, March 6, at 5 p.m. using the online entry form

Winners will be announced Friday, April 3, and an event will be held on the afternoon of Monday, April 13, to award prizes. A pop-up exhibit featuring items from student book collections will be on display at the event.
