“A Moment to Decide”

In 1964, a civil rights icon, a famous Black nationalist and a Presbyterian minister crossed paths, with tragic consequences. The Rev. Bruce Klunder is a well-known figure at Church of the Covenant, but the surrounding people and events may be surprising. In this presentation, Michele Minter revisits the story of the civil rights movement in Cleveland.

Michele Minter is vice provost for institutional equity and diversity at Princeton University, where she oversees the University’s strategic initiatives focused on diversity, inclusion, access and civil rights law. A native Clevelander, she has degrees from Yale University, the City University of New York and Chicago Theological Seminary.
