Weatherhead School of Management is offering a new experiential learning course for first-year and second-year students; MGMT 198: Experience in Business Problem Solving. The course introduces students to the experiential learning model, problem solving methodology, the value of building strong client relations in the business world, and the ways in which various topics are addressed in organizations.
Three sections of this 1-credit hour course are being offered in the fall 2025 semester, each focusing on different topics – Organizations, Sustainability, and Social Impact (nonprofits). The experiences in this course are meant to simulate the interaction and work conducted by employees in professional service firms.
Working in teams, students are exposed to a real-life business project, meeting both a set deadline and client expectations and culminating in a live presentation to the client at the end of the semester. These courses are appropriate for students from any major or background.
