ITS implements new tool to make it easier to configure CaseWireless network to devices

Information Technology Services (ITS) has implemented a new tool to make it easier for members of the campus community to configure CaseWireless on their devices.

The tool automatically sets CaseWireless as the default wireless network. If CaseWireless already is installed on a device, users can manually select it as their default network or reinstall CaseWireless using the link below.

The CaseWireless network is secure, fast and reserved for the use of the Case Western Reserve University community. It’s much faster than CaseGuest, the public wireless network. The network’s encryption protects users and their computer from data theft and attack and it does not require them to use the VPN to connect to resources that are restricted to the CWRU network. For these reasons, CWRU students, faculty and staff are encouraged to only use CaseWireless, not CaseGuest.

To configure devices to connect to CaseWireless, go to wireless-setup.case.edu while connected to the CWRU network. The tool will detect—or allow users to select—their operating system, present the appropriate installation file and provide them with the proper steps for installation. After this one-time setup, users will not need to go through this process again. Users automatically will connect to the CaseWireless network when they go wireless.

For a how-to guide, go to help.case.edu and click “Networks category” then “CaseWireless.” The how-to guide is on the right side.
