The Siegal Lifelong Learning Program will host a free remote lecture with Liat Alon, assistant professor in the Department of History and the Program in Jewish Culture and Society at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.
Alon will present “Israeli Society Between Shtisel and Fauda” Wednesday, Jan. 5, from noon to 1:30 p.m.
Fauda and Shtisel are two of the most acclaimed Israeli television series. Taken together, they give a clear view into the complexity of modern Israeli society. This talk will take a close look at characters, plot lines, and key moments from both shows, and how these shed light on some of the domestic and regional dilemmas facing Israel today.
