International graduate students: Improve your presentation skills with ESS seminar

Educational Services for Students will offer a free three-week seminar, “Improving Accuracy for Presentations,” for international graduate students to enhance their presentation skills by focusing on vocabulary and advanced language skills for fluency.

Sessions begin Nov. 11 and meet once a week on Fridays from 2 to 3 p.m.

The seminar will give students the chance to practice and prepare for formal and academic presentations. Topics may include:

  • Academic vocabulary for presentations;
  • Vocabulary for describing charts and graphs;
  • Using advanced structures for spoken English fluency
  • General review of language for accuracy in presentations;
  • Presentation skills;
  • Gestures; and
  • Pronunciation, stress and intonation.
