Incoming students: Register for orientation excursions

“Discover Cleveland” excursions are consistently among the most popular activities during New Student Orientation. The excursions take students to favorite area locations, helping them identify new things to do in town while learning how to get around using the RTA public transportation system.

Students can choose from more than 40 excursions on Wednesday, Aug. 20. The programs begin with a keynote address from Pete and Mike Mitchell of Mitchell’s Homemade Ice Cream. They’ll explain why they chose to locate their business in Cleveland and why the city is such a great place for work and play.

Programs include trips to the AsiaTown neighborhood, enjoy the food of the East Fourth District, hike the Cleveland Metroparks, shop at Legacy Village, tour Progressive Field (home of the Cleveland Indians), check out the historic West Side Market, visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and much more.

Students can use their New Student Checklist to sign up for the Discover Cleveland program of their choice.

Using the New Student Checklist, students can also register for “CWRU Connects: Serving Our City,” which will give incoming students the chance to volunteer at local nonprofits and schools in the Cleveland community on Thursday, Aug. 21.

In addition, incoming students can register to attend an Indians game with free tickets from the Office of First-Year Experience and Family Programs.
