Incoming students: Learn about move-in

Incoming students can sign up for a variety of move-in options for New Student Orientation, depending on their arrival date.

Students moving in on Thursday, Aug. 14 or Sunday, Aug. 17 can sign up for a specific move-in time. Students moving in any other day for international orientation or an athletic group do not need a move-in time. All early arrival groups will receive specific information about when and how they can move in.

Students can also choose an early drop-off on Saturday, Aug. 16 by signing up on the New Student Checklist.

More information about early drop-off is available at students.case.edu/living/housing/opening/earlydrop.html.

Students who do not sign up for early drop-off should plan to arrive on campus at the move-in time they specify on their New Student Checklist. Upon arrival, they will check in and pick up their orientation materials, room key and student ID at the following locations:

  • Cedar and Juniper Residential Colleges—Pioneer Room, Wade Commons
  • Magnolia and Mistletoe Residential Colleges—Red Cat Room, Wade Commons

Assistance will be provided during move-in on Sunday, Aug. 17. Staff in Cushman vehicles and small flatbed trucks will meet students curbside to help unload vehicles, and student volunteers will help move belongings to their room. To help the volunteers, students are asked to consider the following guidelines when preparing to move:

  • Pack most items in boxes or storage containers. Larger loose items are fine. Small loose items or loose clothes are more difficult to transport.
  • Label boxes and items with the student’s name, building and room number to help the volunteers deliver items to the correct room.
  • Pack larger items appropriately in case of inclement weather.

Additional information about move-in for first-year students is available at students.case.edu/living/housing/opening/new.html.
