Student organization Israel’s CWRU will host a screening of A Heartbeat Away, a documentary about doctors’ medical missions to Tanzania, Thursday, Feb. 16, from 7 to 9 p.m. in Hillel Building, Classroom 001.
The event is part of Save a Child’s Heart Week. Save a Child’s Heart is a nonprofit that provides urgent pediatric heart surgery and cares for children in developing countries where it is otherwise unobtainable. They fly kids into Israel to perform life-saving operations regardless of race, religion, sex, color or finances.
After the documentary screening, James Strainic, assistant professor of pediatrics, will talk about heart health, specifically in children.
Throughout the week, the university community is invited to stop by the Tinkham Veale University Center to buy cupcakes and post a heart on Israel’s CWRU’s wall.
