Get active in the new year with the HealthTrails program

Did you resolve to be more active in 2017? If so, participate in HealthTrails, a 12-week exercise incentive program open to all benefits eligible faculty and staff.

The program will kick off Jan. 23.

Individuals or small groups of four to six members are encouraged to exercise most days of the week and then log that activity on a computer, tablet or phone. By logging, they will virtually travel down trails in interesting locations across the globe.

Participants will earn extra mileage for drinking at least six 8 oz. servings of water daily five times a week and taking a two-minute time out at least five times a week.

“We offered HealthTrails to faculty and staff last winter and received some really positive feedback,” Mary Ann Dobbins, wellness coordinator, said. “This year the trails have been updated, so participants will see new and different places as they log their exercise.”

A random drawing of 20 participants who successfully complete the program by April 6 will be offered prizes including a bluetooth speaker and five-pack passes to small group training at CWRU’s 121 Fitness Center.

The three teams who travel the farthest will be treated to a group lunch on campus.
