Join the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women and the Laura and Alvin Siegal Lifelong Learning Program for a global conversation Wednesday, March 22, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Kelvin Smith Library, Room 125.
The conversation, titled “Gender equality and empowerment of women’s rights,” is organized by Dialogue Café Serbia. In addition to Cleveland, there will be groups calling in from Belgrade, Lisbon, Novi Pazar and Rio de Janeiro to join the conversation.
Ana Sofia Fernandes, secretary-general of the Portuguese Platform for Women’s Rights and a member of the Administration Council of the European Women’s Lobby, will be among the panelists.
The session will focus on gender equality and the empowerment of women’s rights with the aim of supporting gender equality and parity. The session will address some of major challenges faced globally by women by promoting experiences and knowledge sharing between the countries involved in the discussion.
