The Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Advisory Board is now accepting funding requests for programming for the 2014 MLK Celebration, “Embracing the Past, Empowering the Present, Envisioning the Future,” which will begin Friday, Jan. 17.

All members of the campus community are invited to participate in the annual campus celebration of King’s life and legacy. Departments, student organizations, offices and centers are encouraged to apply for funding for MLK celebration events by submitting proposals online.

Co-sponsorships of events can range from $100 to $2,000. Past co-sponsorships have helped support speakers, films, displays, workshops, receptions, lunches and field trips. The deadline to submit funding requests is Monday, Nov. 25, at 5 p.m.

The annual MLK convocation will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24, and will feature Wil Haygood, Washington Post reporter and author of The Butler: A Witness to History.
