The Siegal Lifelong Learning Program’s Northeast Ohio Public Policy Forum series continues Tuesday, May 16, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Solon Community Center (35000 Portz Pkwy.).
The discussion is titled “Fracking and the Impact of the Utica on Ohio.”
A panel will discuss the impact of fracking on Ohio’s economy and environment. What are some of the industry and employment opportunities that might arise out of this new technology in some of the poorest sections of our state? Can it be done without significantly polluting our water and air?
The following panelists will address those questions:
- Michael Chadsey, of the Ohio Oil and Gas Association;
- Trent Dougherty, of the Ohio Environmental Council; and
- Edward “Ned” Hill, of the John Glenn College of Public Affairs at The Ohio State University.
Dan Shingler, of Crain’s Cleveland Business, will moderate the discussion.
This event is free and open to the public.
Registration is available online.
