Find out which new dining option campus community is most excited about

When Tinkham Veale University Center holds its official opening on Aug. 24, the campus community will have a variety of new dining options. But according to The Daily’s poll this week, one of those options is overwhelmingly more exciting than the rest.

Melt Bar and Grilled, a Cleveland-area restaurant specializing in gourmet grilled-cheese sandwiches, will open Melt University in the new university center—a first for the company. Just over half of this week’s respondents said they’re most excited to have the local staple on campus. Melt University is garnering so much excitement around campus that it had more than twice as many votes than the second-place winner.

Naan, a vegetarian, quick-service establishment serving Indian dishes, came in second with 18 percent of the votes. In third place, 8Twenty6, an 8-foot-long salad bar with 20 ingredients and six house-made dressings, had 16 percent of the votes. The other two options: Pinzas, a restaurant serving Italian flatbread and pasta, and Cool Beanz, which will serve Zingerman’s Coffee and pastries, each received less than 10 percent of votes.
