The Muslim Student Association will hold its annual charity banquet, Fastathon, Friday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m. in Thwing Center ballroom.
In collaboration with the Food Recovery Network, members of the group will focus on the issues of fighting waste and feeding people.
Hind Makki, an internationally recognized speaker, will give a talk, titled “The Power of Plenty,” with dinner served afterward.
Makki works in interfaith cooperation, civic integration and developing Muslim women’s leadership throughout North America and Western Europe.
All proceeds will be donated to Helping Hands, an international humanitarian relief organization that helps refugees and those in need around the world.
Tickets are $5 for CWRU undergrads and $7 for all others.
