Educational Services for Students to host conference for new undergraduate teaching assistants

The Undergraduate Teaching Assistant Professional Development Conference will be Sunday, Sept. 13, from 12:30 to 5 p.m., in DeGrace Hall, Room 312. Attendance at the conference is required for all new undergraduate teaching assistants. Pizza and beverages will be provided.

The conference, organized as a series of concurrent sessions, will address specific undergraduate teaching assistant roles: graders with office hours, graders without office hours, recitation leaders and lab leaders. A $40 stipend will be paid for attending this training seminar.

Undergraduate teaching assistants should speak with their teaching assistant supervisor to initiate the student employment paperwork. This paperwork should then be taken to Gloria Jenkins, assistant director of student employment, in Yost Hall, Room 435.

Questions about undergraduate teaching assistant training should be directed to Judy Olson-Hammer, director of Educational Services for Students, at 216.368.5230 or at essinfo@case.edu.
