Loosely modeled after the popular City Club Forum, the Siegal Lifelong Learning Program will host the Eastside Conversations, programs held once a month to discuss contemporary issues.
Daniel Goldmark, professor of music, will lead the next discussion in the series. He will present “The New ‘New” Hollywood Musical” Friday, Nov. 30, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Landmark Centre (25700 Science Park Drive, Beachwood).

Stories of the film musical’s demise have been bandied about for years. With the popularity of La La Land and other recent films, however, we can see that film musicals are alive and well.
In this presentation, Goldmark will look at recent film musicals and the legacy of classic Hollywood.
Series details
The Eastside Conversations series is led by local university faculty and laypeople, and provides participants the opportunity to engage in meaningful questions and conversations.
Individual sessions in the series cost $21 for members or $26 for nonmembers. The fee includes lunch.
The final installment of the series will be held Friday, Dec. 14.
Michael R. Weil, a lecturer at the Cleveland Institute of Art, photographer and gallery owner, will present “Stieglitz’s Dream, O’Keeffe’s Reality.”
