Do you want to garden but don’t have a yard? No problem. University Farm staff members will host a two-hour workshop at Garden@Case to give those with limited outdoor growing space the knowledge to successfully grow a garden right on their porches, balconies, or patios. This workshop will be held Thursday, June 1, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Garden@Case (1644 Mistletoe Dr.).
Participants will be taught the basic needs for their plants (sun, water, soil) as well as container sizes and appropriate vegetables and herbs to plant in them. Additionally, the class will address disease and pest prevention, and the importance of companion planting in small spaces to better maximize your harvest throughout the growing season. Participants will receive a free plant in its own container.
The cost for this workshop is $25 for the general public, $15 for Case Western Reserve University faculty and staff, and $5 for CWRU students and Ohio Food Assistance recipients.
