Connect trivia: mascots of the past

In honor of Legacy Week, we wanted to test your school spirit with the hisory question: Before Case Western Reserve University’s mascot was the Spartan, who represented the Case Institute of Technology and Western Reserve University?

Many of the respondents to Monday’s trivia question knew the answer or came very close. Until the two institutions’ historic merger in 1968, the Case Institute of Technology was represented by the Rough Rider and Western Reserve University was the home of the Red Cats.

More than half of respondents (65 percent) answered completely correctly. Every survey participant remembered the Case Rough Riders, but some believed that Western Reserve University students were the Wild Cats. We’re still impressed!
