Cleveland Bucket List: Maple Sugar Hike

The Center for International Affairs and the Center for Civic Engagement and Learning invite students to participate in the next Cleveland Bucket List event, which will take students to the Rocky River Nature Center. The event will feature a tour of the maple sugar operation at Maple Grove and a three-quarter-mile hike through the scenic trails of the Cleveland Metroparks on Fort Hill Loop.

The Maple Sugar Hike will take place Saturday, March 16. The group will leave campus at 10 a.m. and take a bus to the Rocky River Nature Preserve, which is about 30 minutes from campus. The maple sugar tour will begin at 11 a.m. and the hike will follow.

This event is only open to CWRU students. Tickets are $5 each and include water, snacks and the bus ride.

Participants should note that the Fort Hill Loop includes 155 stairs to see a view of the Rocky River. It may be muddy on the trail, so participates are advised to dress appropriately.
